It Started With A Cookbook…

A couple of months ago, I purchased a cookbook, The World Central Kitchen Cookbook, by José Andrés. I was inspired by the Table of Contents. Instead of being organized by appetizers, side dishes and entrées, it was organized by empathy, compassion, urgency and more. I had this thought it might be fun to host a fundraising dinner party.

This idea blossomed into another idea to host a fundraising menu with the purveyors at Paso Market Walk. Please join me on:
- September 21, 2024
- 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Paso Market Walk
- 1803 Spring St.
- Paso Robles, California

Each participating purveyor will be offering a special dish à la carte available for purchase inspired from José Andrés and The World Central Kitchen Cookbook. Visitors can taste the variety of meals World Central Kitchen provides for people impacted by natural disasters and other global crises.

• Finca: Marcus’s Spiced Catfish Sandwich

• InBloom: Lamb Bolognese

• JoeBella Coffee: Coffee Twist to Rum Sour

• LeoLeo Gelato: Gelato

• Momotaro Ramen: Japanese Twist to Braised Pork al Pastor

• Paso Robles Wine Merchant: Papas Arrugadas con Mojo Rojo

• The Third Degree: Spanish Inspired Avocado Shrimp Salad

• Vreamery: Vegan Mac ‘n Cheese with Jalapeno

In addition, attendees may donate directly to World Central Kitchen using Google Pay, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and CC payments with the unique QR code. Checks made out to "World Central Kitchen” will also be accepted. With each donation, you will be entered into a raffle for one of six copies of The World Central Kitchen Cookbook signed by José Andrés.

This event is free to attend and guests are asked to RSVP to ensure we are adequately prepared with enough food.

About World Central Kitchen
• World Central Kitchen is a nonprofit organization that provides fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.
• We believe food is a universal human right.
• We respond with the urgency of now because when people are hungry, it cannot wait. We must act now.
• We know that a nourishing meal in a time of crisis is so much more than a plate of food—it’s hope, it’s dignity, and it’s a sign that someone cares about you and that you are not alone.

And once in a blue moon, I may post something about food and dogs too in addition to art.
